Listening is an important part of my life. I grew up in a social family where gatherings were frequent, and the ‘kid’s table’ was non-existent. So, for as long as I can remember, I have been most comfortable in diverse settings with a mix of personalities and backgrounds.

I love meeting new people, but at the same time I crave a deeper understanding of what drives them. I’ve also found great fulfillment in the relationships I’ve nurtured over time; a balance of constancy and change, ease and effort. Most of what I know I’ve learned by asking questions, listening to answers, and realizing that my goal is not to know everything, but to always remain curious.

Human relations are messy, organizations are complex, and deadlines are stressful. We will never achieve lasting perfection in how we interact with one another, but I believe we are at our most effective when we embrace a generosity of spirit through listening—striving to understand, appreciate, and challenge one another.
