This year’s competition matches graduate students from two or more schools with faculty advisors, development professionals, and mentors in architecture and finance. Over a two-month period, each team will produce an affordable housing development plan tailored to a specific site.

“In addition to creating a distinctive and prominent landmark, it was important that the design of the Icon Plaza reinforce a sense of connection to the USC campus,” said Jonah Busick, who oversaw construction and supplemental design.
Shepley Bulfinch led a series of major design modifications, including the reorientation of the central courtyard to align with USC’s principal pedestrian axis ...[more]

How does a liberal arts education remain a valid, viable and affordable pathway for millennial students?
That was the big question at last week’s conference at Wake Forest on Rethinking Success, from the Liberal Arts to Careers in the 21st century, which drew academic and student development leaders from across the country.
Conference participants talked at length about how the skills that are central to academic success are also vital to building a sustainable career in the 21st century. It is imperative that colleges and universities not only support the skills ...[more]
