Shepley Bulfinch named among Top 100 women-led businesses in Mass

Shepley Bulfinch was honored as one of 2011’s Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts in an event hosted by the Boston Business Journal and the Commonwealth Institute earlier today to honor Massachusetts’ largest women-led companies and their impact on the state’s economy.

Carole Wedge, who has been Shepley’s president since 2004, was on hand to receive the award.

Earlier this year, the firm was honored by the American Institute of Architects in the AIA’s Diversity Recognition Program.

The 100 firms honored today span the spectrum of business sectors, and included the TJX Companies, Sonesta International Hotels, and Constant Contact.

Saint Peter’s College breaks ground on student center

Saint Peter’s College broke ground on the MacMahon Student Center October 26 in a ceremony attended by members of the college community and civic and political leaders.

In his remarks, Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healey noted that the 84,000 s.f. building would be transformative not only as Saint Peter’s first student center, but also in its wider role in the revitalization of McGinley Square and Jersey City.

AIA honors Shepley Bulfinch for diversity

Shepley Bulfinch has been selected for honors in the Diversity Recognition Program of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for its work in fostering a diverse culture in its practice.

The firm, one of three to be so recognized, will be honored formally at the 2011 AIA National Convention in New Orleans next month for its effort, titled “Forging a Diverse Culture.”
