The LINK took top honors in the 30th annual Valley Forward Environmental Excellence Awards, announced in Phoenix on October 2. The mixed-use building, which was renovated in 2008, received a Crescordia (first place) Award (Commercial/Mixed-Use) and a Merit Award (Historic Preservation).

Merzproject’s renovation of a small 1957 office building near downtown Phoenix into the award-winning mixed-use Link is profiled in “Past Forward,” an article in the current issue of Retrofit magazine. The two-story building is a short walk from a major light rail stop, Central Library, and the Phoenix Art Museum. Design is now underway for Bridgeport Hospital’s Park Avenue Campus Outpatient Center in Trumbull, which will provide a new level of access to quality outpatient care in southwestern Connecticut.
The center’s range of services will include a comprehensive cancer center, including medical oncology and radiation services and a breast care center, ambulatory surgery, gastroenterology services, full service radiology, a Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital Specialty Center, rehabilitation, and other physician offices. The new facility will create a welcoming, accessible outpatient care campus, joining two existing buildings that house radiation oncology and medical offices, in a park-like suburban setting.

Hamline University celebrated the newest addition to the school’s St. Paul, Minnesota, campus on Friday, with the dedication of the Carol Young Anderson and Dennis L. Anderson University Center.
Hamline President Linda Hanson was joined by alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community leaders for the event, and St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman proclaimed October, 5 2012 as Hamline University Anderson Center Day in the city. Composer and pianist Steven C. Anderson, Hamline ’88, debuted “Gratitude,” his musical composition commissioned for the occasion, at the alumni dinner the previous evening.
