Eckstein Hall, the new home to Marquette University’s Law School, has received LEED Silver certification from the US Green Building Council just months after the building’s completion.

Marquette and the project team were committed to constructing an energy-efficient building and receiving LEED certification.

Milwaukee, WI – Eckstein Hall, the new home of Marquette University Law School, was dedicated in a September 8 ceremony. US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia gave the keynote address to 1,500 assembled guests, including all seven members of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

The Lovett School’s Portman Middle School in Atlanta has received LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council in recognition of the school’s highly sustainable design and construction.

The Library and Science Center at the Ashley Hall School in Charleston has received a 2010 Merit Award for Excellence in School Building and Design from CEFPI’s South Carolina chapter.

The center was dedicated in 2009, the centennial year for this independent girls’ school. The school’s rich history informed the project design, which drew inspiration from the proportion and detail of nearby McBee House, the campus’ iconic structure. A cover story in the Spring 2010 of Lovett magazine, the Atlanta school’s publication for alumni, parents, and friends of the school, celebrates the new Portman Family Middle School.

The school was dedicated in the fall of 2009.

CINCINNATI, OH – As an article in the current issue of the Business Courier of Cincinnati notes, the building now under construction for Williams College of Business at Xavier will transform the school’s learning environment, but it won’t stop there. As part of the new Hoff Academic Quad (with Conaton Learning Commons), the project will provide the public face of Xavier, its towers flanking the newly defined entrance.

ATLANTA, GA – The Portman Family Middle School was dedicated at The Lovett School today in a ceremony that drew attention to the school’s commitment to environmental stewardship. From the building’s design and operations to its students’ curriculum, sustainability is integrated throughout the 75,000 s.f. school, which opened for classes in September.

The facility provides sixth through eighth grade students with a technology-rich learning environment, including science labs, a computer lab, art and drama studios, collaborative study rooms, and a 500-seat multi-purpose room.

RALEIGH, NC – Campbell University opened the doors to the new home of the Wiggins School of Law today, giving Raleigh its first law school. The school had previously been located on the university campus in nearby Buies Creek.

Law School dean Melissa Essary and Raleigh Mayor Charles Meeker welcomed students to the new school, which its13 classrooms, 175-seat auditorium and 25,000 square foot library. In addition, the Raleigh division of the North Carolina Business Court will be co-located with the school, giving students the opportunity for hands-on legal experience.
