The transformation of a former Amherst College fraternity house near the main campus into a 44-bed residence hall is now underway, with plans to open in the 2013-2014 academic year.

The 21,000 square foot renovation and expansion of Seligman House, which was built in 1921, preserves the character of the original building and adds a three-story wing that complements it aesthetically. As the work of the academic year wrapped up in May at Colorado College, another sort of work began, with the summer renovation of Rastall Hall, Benji’s Café, and Colorado Café in the Worner Center.

In a celebration today attended by Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and other dignitaries, the Atlanta University Center (AUC) rededicated the renovated Robert W. Woodruff Library, unveiling its interactive and technology-rich 21st century learning environment.

Shepley Bulfinch’s completion of the first phase of this major renovation included more than 130,000 square feet of the Woodruff Library’s 220,000 square foot facility. The renovation replaced many solid interior walls with glass panels, drawing natural light deep into the space.

Troy, NY – Phase 1 of the two-part renovation of community life spaces at the historic Emma Willard School has been completed and enthusiastically welcomed on this independent school campus in upstate New York.
