BOSTON, MA — The new, 55,000 s.f. Zorn Dining Commons, which was completed in October 2005, can accommodate 900 students, features a marketplace servery with five major stations, a faculty dining room with its own servery, a “grab & go” with a separate entrance, a production kitchen that can handle campus wide catering, administrative offices and a small meeting room. The large dining hall can be partitioned off to allow 400-person events apart from and during the daily use of the facility.

Bishop Fenwick Place, Xavier University’s new residential and dining complex, was dedicated last month in a ceremony that celebrated the transformational residence and dining complex on the Cincinnati campus.
Fenwick Place is home to 535 sophomores with suite-style living in four connected wings that rise above a green terrace. The terrace also serves as the roof of Hoff Dining Commons, the university’s new central dining facility. Construction is now underway for the new residence hall and dining complex for Xavier University in Cincinnati. With 535 beds in four residence halls, the 240,000 s.f. project will have a dramatic impact in alleviating significant overcrowding and constraints the university has faced in its on-campus student housing. Colorado College marked the renovation of the college’s dining facilities at the Worner Center with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony today on the Center’s south patio. President Jill Tiefenthaler welcomed guests to the event, which was followed by a tour of Rastall Hall.
The renovation has transformed the tired facility into a bright, dynamic social space for Colorado College that is both welcoming and energy-efficient. Central to the project’s success are new serveries with Energy Star-rated equipment and an easy-to-navigate layout. An interactive flat-screen monitors energy consumption in the building.

Johns Hopkins marked a milestone in the completion of the Brody Learning Commons with a May 9 topping-off ceremony. The symbolic last steel beam, bearing hundreds of signatures of members of the Hopkins community, was hoisted into place at the end of the event.
